Govt directs authorities to open Lunte School by January

—-Education Minister, John Phiri, has directed education authorities in Northern Province to ensure that Lunte boarding school for girls in Mporokoso is opened by January, next year.

Dr Phiri was speaking when he inspected the K28 million instotution where almost 90 per cent of the works has already been completed.

He further directed that teachers must be deployed at the institution by December, this year.

Dr Phiri said on its part, government will push to complete the remaining works at the boarding school.

Northern Province Minister, Freedom Sikazwe, who accompanied Dr Phiri, appealed to people in the area to guard the school infrastructure jealously.

He said government was committed to promote the education of young people especially girl children.

Mr. Sikazwe said the education of children will reduce illiteracy levels especially in the rural areas and ultimately reduce poverty.
