Church commends government

Kafue, October 20, 2014, ZANIS……….. The church in Kafue district has commended government for spearheading development in the area.

Representing the church bodies in the district, Disciples International Overseer Henry Kashweka  said government had brought back economic life to the district .

ZANIS reports that Mr. Kashweka was speaking during independence Inter-denomination jubilee prayers at the Holy Saviour church in Kafue yesterday.

He said that the introduction of the Farmer Input Support Program(FISP), the construction of  the  road network and revamping  of Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia(NCZ) among others have helped uplift the livelihoods of Kafue residents.

And Mr. Kashweka however observed that the country’s freedom had not been completely achieved .

He noted that Jubilee was about total freedom not partial as depicted by the statue and has since appealed to government to revise the freedom statue during the Jubilee celebrations.

Gracing the occasion, Kafue Member of Parliament Obvious Mwaliteta affirmed government’s commitment to change the face of Kafue.

Mr. Mwaliteta said government working with other stakeholders will upgrade the district to high standards.

The area Member of Parliament who is also Central Province Minister revealed that government has a vision to upgrade Kafue district into a municipal council.

He has since called on all Zambians and Kafue district in particular to be patriotic if  the district and the country at large is to develop.

Speaking earlier, a 76 year old Esnart Khosa  commended government for the development  and peace the country is experiencing.

 The service attracted hundreds of Kafue residents  including church mother bodies, council of churches in Zambia(CCZ),Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia(EFZ),Zambia Episcopal Conference(ZEC) and other churches  groups.
