Freedom fighter urges corrupt-free Zambia.

Isoka, 17 October, 2014, ZANIS…A  77-year-old  freedom fighter of Nachisungu village in Isoka district has advised Zambians to liberate themselves from corruption as the country celebrates its Golden jubilee independence.

Speaking when he featured on Zambia at 50 radio programme on Isofm community radio station monitored by ZANIS in Isoka yesterday, Mr Yaled Siwila said Zambians should refrain from corrupt activities if the celebrations are to be meaningful.

Mr Siwila charged that celebrating the country’s independence will be meaningless if corruption is not eradicated.

He held that freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for the peace and tranquility Zambia was enjoying today to be attained and liberate the nation from all forms of colonialism including corruption.

The retired former Zambia Army officer stressed that corruption was a biggest enemy to any country’s economic development and has the potential to destabilize the nation’s peace if not properly checked.

Mr. Siwila said it was important that as Zambia commemorates her 50th independence anniversary  measures should be put in place and implemented to curb corruption in the nation.

He said there is need for Zambia to be a corrupt free country for prosperity to be realized in full.
