Kalulushi District Commissioner Kampamba Mulenga has appealed to the mining firms in the area to make significant contributions towards the golden Jubilee celebrations.
Ms Mulenga said this in Kalulushi today during the golden Jubilee celebration preparatory meeting held in the Council Chamber.
She said it was important that the mining firms contributed significantly in terms of their Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) because they need to plough back into the communities as they were not only there for profit making.
She said she was not happy with the donations which the mining firms had contributed.
Acting Council Town Clerk Josephine Simwinga has since appealed to families and stakeholders in Kalulushi to take advantage of the Jubilee celebrations by planting trees in their homes and offices.
Ms Simwinga said an environment without trees was not conducive to human beings.
