—-A-28-year-old man of Nchenga village in Nakonde district of Muchinga province yesterday appeared before a Nakonde magistrate’s court for defiling a 12-year- old Grade 5 pupil contrary to Section 138 as amended by Act No 2 of 2011 Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Appearing before magistrate Joshua Sikazwe yesterday was Jimmy Sikombe, a peasant farmer.
Particulars of the offence are that on October 2 2014, the girl was sent by her parents to buy soap at a market.
It was on her way back from the market that she met Jimmy Sikombe who the girl knew very well.
Sikombe later told the girl to follow him so that he could give her a sweet.
Sikombe later after reaching a hidden place dropped the girl to the ground, undressed her and had canal knowledge of her.
He later threatened to kill the girl if she dared to tell anyone what had happened to her.
The following day the father of the girl noticed that his daughter was limping and not walking properly and he requested her grandmother to ask her granddaughter why she was not walking properly.
The girl later informed her grandmother that Jimmy Sikombe had carnal Knowledge of her.
Magistrate Sikazwe has since adjourned the matter to October 14 for continuation trial.
