South African nabbed for cocaine trafficking

The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) in Southern Province has arrested a 44 year-old South African national for trafficking in cocaine.

 

Abraham Mtembu Sibiya, a Sailor residing at 202 Johnson Street in Pretoria, South Africa has been arrested for trafficking in 6 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in a suitcase.

 

DEC Public Relations Officer Theresa Katongo told ZANIS in a statement that the suspect was apprehended at Kazungula border in Livingstone as he was coming from Tanzania enroute to South Africa.

 

Meanwhile, the Commission in Lusaka has arrested a teacher of Kamanga Basic School in for being in possession of over K19, 000 and 200 United States dollars counterfeit notes.

 

Ms. Katongo said in count one Rhoda Shawa Chisenga, 50, a teacher residing at House number 60/17 Kamanga compound in Lusaka, has been arrested for being in possession of K19, 600 and 200 United States dollar counterfeit notes.

 

She said in count two, the teacher has been jointly charged with Collins Ngoma, 48, a peasant farmer of Bwacha compound in Kabwe for being in possession of K20, 000 counterfeit notes.

 

Ms. Katongo disclosed that the duo was apprehended from Lusaka’s Kamanga compound.

 

She said all suspects will appear in court soon.
