The Road Development Agency (RDA) in Muchinga Province has embarked on the construction of Chabola bridge in Mulanga Village in Chief Chibesakunda’s area in Shiwang`andu district.

RDA Muchinga Province Regional Manager Samuel Twasa disclosed the development in an interview with ZANIS in Shiwang`andu today.

Mr Twasa said the construction of the Bridge will cost government K1 million adding that the works are taking shape with minimal challenges so far.

And Chamusenga Ward Councilor Cacious Chiti said every year the community used to cut logs to make a temporal bridge to allow members of the community to cross the river.

Mr Chiti further said that the situation used to worsen in the rain season as pupils in the area were affected and people were failing to access social amenities.

He said that farmers used to face challenges in transporting their produce to the nearest market place.

Mr Chiti has since expressed gratitude to government for helping the people
in his ward by constructing a permanent bridge.
