Kwambwa DC warns St. Mary’s Girls pupils against exam malpractices

Kawambwa, September 30, 2014, ZANIS— Kawambwa District Commissioner, Ivo Mpasa has encouraged girls at St Mary’s secondary school in Kawambwa to study hard and avoid malpractices during the examinations.

Mr Mpasa said malpractices have reportedly been experienced in the area hence the girls should strive to study hard in order to maintain the image of the school.

He was speaking in Kawambwa at the weekend at the cerebration of 50
years of the school’s delivering academic excellence.

Mr Mpasa said the school will lose its good credibility if the girls are found with examination leakages.

And Mr Mpasa has strongly warned teachers against leaking examination papers to pupils as they are the main sources of leakages.

Meanwhile, Mr Mpasa has said plans are underway to construct a classroom block and laboratory at St Mary’s School for the visually impaired.

The DC revealed that his office has already collected a quotation from Mporokoso and that construction works will commence next year.

Earlier, School Head Girl, Mwewa Chungu bemoaned the shortage of bed spaces and appealed to government to consider expanding the students dormitories to accommodate more pupils.

Chungu also complained that theft was rampant at school because it is too open and appealed to the government to help build a wall fence round the school.

She has also called for the provision of a vehicle to ease pupils’ transport problems

However, Chungu thanked teachers, parents and guardians for their tireless efforts in supporting the school.
