A Non-Governmental Organization has called on the young people in Mitete District to concentrate on life skills which will help them earn a living.
Lukulu District Destiny for Zambian Youth Coordinator Mwiya Mwiya said young people have a lot of things to do in life than engaging themselves in bad vices.
Mr Mwiya said currently the organization has extended sensitization programs against early marriages, HIV /AIDS among others to Mitete district.
He told ZANIS in an interview that the programme targeting adolescent girls and boys went on well in Lukulu District hence the programme has been extended to Mitete district.
Mr Mwiya added that so far youths groups have been formed under Destiny for Zambia in Mukuma and Mitete.
He said his organization is yet to form the similar groups in Muyondoti and Kakulunda areas.
The coordinator said his organization is involved in teaching young people on issues to do with behaviour change as the move will enable them be responsible leaders.
He further disclosed that the organization is also carrying out programmes on self-employment and unwanted pregnancies for the young people in Mitete District.
Mr Mwiya stated that the goal of the organization is to provide solutions by giving young people good leadership skills in order to reduce on cases of HIV /AIDS in the districts.
