The Zambia National Women Lobby (ZNWL) has urged the new women Members of Parliament to ensure that they represent the women in the country.

ZNWL Board Chairperson Beauty Katebe says the women in the country have confidence that their fellow female will be their voices in parliament and speak out on many issues affecting the women in the country.

She notes that as women, they are very happy and expectant from the female parliamentarians citing that this is a step in the right direction even as the country is trying to achieve equal participation of women and men in decision making processes.

Ms. Katebe note that since parliament resumed sitting yesterday, they expect that these women will not be in parliament just for their own desires but for both the people that voted for them and the women at large.

She has further advised other women in the country to give them the full support so that they effectively represent them.
