–A 63 year – old man of Chief Lumpuma’s area in Lufwanyama district has murdered his 50 year-old wife after a domestic quarrel.
ZANIS in Kalulushi reports that Gladys Kiswasa of Kachindila Village was murdered by her husband Bernard Mulenga of the same village.
Police sources in Kitwe who confirmed the development to ZANIS in an interview in Kitwe today said the incident happened two days ago on the 16th of September when Kiswaswa went drinking with her husband at a certain village in Chief Lumpuma’s area.
Police sources said that as Kwiswaswa was dancing, her husband grabbed her so that they could go home and rest around 20:00 hours.
Sources said when the couple went home, her husband started beating her using blows and later hit her with a home-made stool and died on the spot.
The Police source disclosed that when a postmortem was conducted yesterday it was discovered that Kiswaswa had suffered a brain damage.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Lufwanyama for burial and the accused who is in police custody will appear in court soon.
