Over 17 voters are not in the voter’s register–Presiding officer Zambezi West

Voting at Chinyingi polling station in the Zambezi West parliamentary by elections started on a good note with the station recording 162 voters casting their votes by 12:00 hours.

Presiding officer David Mbumba has however said that some voters were not appearing in the voter’s register despite them turning up with voter’s cards and National Registration Cards (NRCs).


Over 17 voters that had relevant documents were not appearing in the voters’ register.

The total number of registered voters at Chinyingi station is 420.

The candidates contesting the elections are Charles Kakoma of the United Party for National Development, Christabel Ngimbu of the Patriotic Front, Priscar Kucheka of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy, Hastings Kanguya of the National Restoration Party, Kayombo Chilila of the Green Party and Mark Kachongo of the Forum for Democracy and Development.
