Libongani thanks govt for constructing police station, camp in Serenje

————– Inspector General of Police, Stella Libongani, has praised government for the construction of 52 police housing units and a police station in Serenje District in Central province.

 

Ms Libongani, who was in Serenje during her tour of Central Province to check on police infrastructural developmental projects said, government’s ambitious programmes that would improve lives of police country wide are bearing fruits.

 

She said when completed, the project will help police enhance service delivery to the people of Serenje, motivate police officers and draw more police officers to the district.

 

Ms Libongani, who inspected the structures at the construction site last Friday, said she was grateful to government for choosing to build the housing units and the police station in Serenje district.

 

The Inspector General said the project will bring the first police station to Serenje district, adding that it was encouraging seeing the contractor on site and moving at the right track.

 

The works, which are being undertaken by Chinese contractor, Datong Construction Limited, have reached roof level.

 

And Inspector General of Police has congratulated the community of Masansa in Lwano district for the initiative made towards the construction of the police post in the area, adding that Zambia Police was there to provide security services to the public.

 

Ms Libongani was accompanied by Central Province Police Commissioner, Standwell Lungu, Assistant Commissioner of Police Public Relations, Charity Munganga and other senior police officers.
