Zambia Bowling team leaves for Botswana

Lusaka, September 4, 2014—The Zambia Bowling team have today left for Jwaneng Botswana to take part in the African States Tournament.

Zambia Bowling Association (ZBA) president Chilombo Chali told ZANIS in Lusaka in an interview that the association managed to raise the K18 000 needed to take part in the tournament.

Chali said it would not have been possible to take part in the tournament had National Sports Council of Zambia (NCSZ) not stepped in to donate the bus used by the team.

He said the donation by NCSZ reduced the deficit to K10 000 which the Copperbelt Bowling Association managed to raise.

Chali said the money was needed to cater for local logistics such as fuel and accommodation of the two teams comprising five men and five women plus two officials.

He said the African States Tournament will run from September 6 to 18 in Jwaneng Botswana.

Chali expressed confidence in the team emerging as champions.
