Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister, Yamfwa Mukanga has hinted that government could announce the setting up of a national airline before the country celebrates 50 years of independence next month.
Mr. Mukanga says government remains committed to the re-introduction of the national airline.

Mr. Mukanga has told QFM News in an interview that he cannot make such a landmark decision without the approval of Cabinet.

Mr. Mukanga says Cabinet memo on the setting up of a national airline has already been tabled and that Cabinet is currently studying the document.

He states that it is the wish of government to give the people of Zambia a national airline as a gift for the country’s 50th independence anniversary.

He says the people of Zambia should have faith and trust in the PF government because it has a vision to take the country forward.

Meanwhile Mr. Mukanga has dared the opposition political parties to test the popularity of the PF in the forthcoming September 11 by-elections in the five constituencies.
