Two villagers drown on Lake Kariba
Choma, August 29th , 2014, ZANIS–Two members of the same family on Tuesday this week drowned on Lake Kariba after a boat they were in capsized due to strong wind.
Nyambe Nyambe 14, and Tiyeho Nyambe 23 respectively both of Namanzuma fishing camp died are believed to have drowned between 16.00 hours and 17.00 hours on Tuesday.
The duo’s bodies have since been retrieved and buried.
Police sources in Chipepo and Chibuwe area councilor, Barna Siansase confirmed the incidence in separate interviews, in Choma District yesterday.
Mr. Siansase said the deceased are believed to have come to the main land to purchase food stuffs when storm hit their boat, before it capsized.
