BOWMAN Lusambo says MMD national secretary Muhabi Lungu is (too small) to silence the voice of the party’s die-hard youth wing.
Last Thursday, MMD president Nevers Mumba disowned Mr Lusambo and directed Mr Lungu to deal with the matter administratively.

Mr Lungu said there is no structure in MMD which is referred to as ‘die-hard wing’.
He also said that Mr Lusambo doesn’t speak on behalf of the MMD and should be taken as an ordinary member whenever he makes any comments.
But Mr Lusambo said the die-hard youth wing would continue to exist since it was adding value to the MMD.
“We have worked with all three presidents when the MMD was in power and we shall continue doing so because we speak out on various issues affecting the party and the country in general. We campaigned for Muhabi even when most people didn’t want him to be national secretary,” Mr Lusambo said.
“The only mistake we made was stating it will be a big insult if Mr Rupiah Banda comes back to active politics since we have young men and women who are capable of taking up leadership roles.”
He said when the MMD lost power no one wanted to be associated with the party.
“We are shocked to receive letter from Muhabi that we should exculpate ourselves, I have never issued a statement on behalf of Dr Mumba or the national secretary but as card-carrying members of MMD, we are free to comment on any issue so long we are adding value to the party and the country,” said Mr Lusambo. “No one will silence our voices, the die-hard wing and the MMD are one and Mr Lungu should know that we are too powerful to be crushed by him.
