All is set for Mangango bye-elections

Lusaka, August 18, 2014 , ZANIS. —- ….Returning Officer for the Mangango Constituency by-elections Kingsley Mutayacwalo says all is set in readiness for tomorrow’s elections.

 

Mr. Mutayacwalo said all the voting materials and polling staff have been distributed and deployed to all the 33 polling stations.

He disclosed this to d ZANIS in an interview  in Lusaka , today.

 

He said that  the ECZ team has started the distribution of ballot papers and deployment of polling staff yesterday and ended today.

 

He said they have enhanced security of ballot papers at Shabo and Ukete polling stations which have temporal structures following the complaints that they received from people about the storage of the ballot papers.

 

And Western Province Police Commissioner,Lombe Kamukoshi said 350 police officers have been deployed to maintain law and order during tomorrow‘ elections.

 

Ms Kamukoshi said the officers who are on the ground will keep vigil of the situation so that people vote peacefully in tomorrow’s by elections.

 

She said people should vote in a peaceful manner because Police wont condone any violence and confusion during the elections.
