The Cameroon Women Soccer team will camp in Zambia on their way to the Africa Cup finals slated for Namibia this October. Taking advantage of their stay in Zambia, the Football Association of Zambia has arranged two friendly matches to help the Women Chipolopolo team to shape up for the October finals. The actual dates for the two matches will be communicated in due course. Association Spokesman Nkweto Tembwe has confirmed to fazfootball.com

“I can confirm that apart from playing the two matched with our women, Cameroon will also play some games with other Zambian women teams” Tembwe said.

Cameroun are expected in the country next week and will set up base in Lusaka.

The Chipolopolo Women have been training at Lusaka’s Polo club and Coach Charles Bwale says he is so far happy with the response from the girls. “We have intensified our training and we look forward to stepping up our training program when we go into full time residential camp on September 1” said the former Nkana defender.

Zambia has been placed in the same group with hosts Namibia, Ivory Coast and Nigeria who have won the title eight times since its inception in 1991. The tournament will however be without the defending Champions, Equatorial Guinea.

The event will run from October 11 to 24, 2014
