PS Kasolo assures investors of support

—Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo has assured investors intending to set-up businesses in the area that  government will support their interests.

Mr Kasolo says government developmental agenda is all inclusive adding that it will protect any investor that comes to improve the economy of the province.

He said government is focused on development that will see an ordinary Zambian benefit saying Luapula has a lot of economic potential that will be supported if any investor comes to invest in province.

ZANIS reports that the Permanent Secretary said this when he addressed a team of investors from South Africa yesterday.

The South Africans are in Luapula province to explore prospects of investing in different sectors  of the local economy and also interact with the business community in the area.

Mr Kasolo assured investors that government has embarked on ambitious projects in the road sector that once completed will ease the movement of goods and services in the entire province.

The permanent Secretary told the investors that Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo has good relations which opens any investment to markets in that country.

He said the Democratic republic of Congo plans to put up a rail line that will pass through Kashiba border in Mwense through to Tanzania adding that the prospects of the line will benefit investment in the province.

And Mashimba Mine Director Benjamin Matimelo called on the investors to give better deals to local miners that they may involve in their investments in the province.
