Nakonde teacher knifed by hubby

Nakonde, August 12, 2014,ZANIS……..A 28 –year-old  teacher of Katozi Primary school in Nakonde district of Muchinga province  has sustained deep cuts on both her hands after being brutally beaten by her husband.

Police Sources have told the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Nakonde today that a knife was used to commit the crime.

Police said Nakalumbi Nambela of Katozi Village in Chieftainess Waitwika’s area was accused by her husband who is also a teacher at Mpulungu Primary school in Northern Province of having extra marital affairs with other men.

The man who has been identified as Noah Mugala is said to have asked his wife to follow him to the bedroom upon arrival from Mpulungu and whilst in the bedroom with the wife he produced a knife and stabbed her several times on both hands.

Mr Mugala also damaged the wind screen of a vehicle belonging to his wife before running away.

Police said a man hunt has since been launched to bring to book Mugala adding that police in Mpulungu have since been notified.

Meanwhile,a ZANIS crew that visited the hospital found that  the injured woman had just been discharged.
