Mahatma Ghandi ART clinic completed

Kabwe, August 8, 2014, ZANIS……… The construction of the Anti-Retrol-viral  Treatment (ART) clinic at Mahatma Ghandi clinic in Kabwe has been completed .

The clinic and is however awaiting handover by the contractor to the government.

District health Infrastructure Officer Alick Chirwa said the project which has been constructed at a cost of K61, 000, was started in 2010 and funded partly by Zambia Prevention and Treatment Care (ZPTC) and from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kabwe today, Mr Chirwa said the new clinic was going to be the biggest ART clinic in the Province as it will carter for over 16, 000 clients.

Mr Chirwa further explained that the project was initially started by the community who brought it up to the window level and with help of ZPTC and government through CDF the project has finally been completed and would be commissioned soon.

And Mahatma Ghandi Clinic Sister in Charge Josephine Mwananshiku, said the new development at the clinic has cheered and motivated the staff and beneficiaries as it will improve service delivery.

Mrs Mwananshinku thanked the government and other stakeholders for financing the construction of the project.
