Kulamba Ceremony set for August 30 this year

Lusaka, ZANIS, 5th August, 2014—The Kulamba Traditional Ceremony of the Chewa speaking people of Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique has been set to take place on August the 30, 2014.

The annual Kulamba traditional ceremony will take place at Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi’s Mukaika Palace in Katete district in Eastern Province.

Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi’s Induna, Joseph Chikuta Mbewe announced the date in a telephone interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today.

Induna Chikuta Mbewe said this year’s ceremony will be celebrated with a call on all the Chewa speaking people to continue adding value to their tradition.

And Induna Chikuta Mbewe disclosed that invited guests from government, diplomats and the international community will be announced later.

The Kulamba traditional ceremony which takes place annually at Mkaika palace in Katete is celebrated by the Chewa speaking people of Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.
