Kasama Municipal council sources new burial site in Chief Nkolemfumu’s area

Kasama, August 2nd, 2014, ZANIS —  Kasama Municipal Council has sourced for a piece of land in Chief Nkolemfumu’s area to be used as a cemetery.

This followed the filling up to capacity of Chiba cemetery.

ZANIS reports that town clerk Maseka Njapau confirmed the development in an interview today.

Mr. Njapau said the council has secured land earmarked for the new cemetery.

He said the piece of land will have enough space to accommodate the holding of activities for the Agriculture and Investment Show.

Mr. Njapau added that the area will also be utilized for the building of low cost and high cost houses.

He said physical planners were currently busy doing demarcations so that the area could accommodate different sectors.

Concerned mourners and the general public as a whole have expressed concern at the challenges they face in accessing the burial grounds for their deceased loved ones.
