Speeding truck knocks down teenager in Luampa District
Luampa, July 15, 2014 ZANIS— A Fifteen-years-old-girl of Silibilo Village in Luampa District of Western Province died on the spot after being hit by a Mitsubishi Canter light truck registration number ABM 3247.
Luampa Mission Hospital Executive Director Sanki Chihinga confirmed the Death of Nashishemo Namanyati who died around 06:00 today.
Mr Chihinga said the accident happened yesterday around 15:00hours at Mbanyutu along Mongu – Lusaka road.
ZANIS reports from Luampa District that the Hospital Executive Director said this in an interview , today.
He said Namanyati was selling cassava along the road when she was hit by the car.
“The girl was brought to the hospital around 18hours and she was in a critical condition,” he said “according to the report issued by the doctor indicates that Namanyati died from severe head injuries.”
And police has identified the driver of the Mitsubishi Canter light truck Registration number ABM 3247 as Vincent Mbambo of Mangango district.
Police sources said Mr Mbambo attempted to escape after knocking down the girl but was intercepted by alert police and he is since in police custody.
