$900 million set aside for airports upgrade

Government has disclosed that it will spend over nine
hundred million dollars to upgrade and expand the national airports in the country.

Speaking during the official opening of the International Civil Aviation Organisation Africa conference in Lusaka July 10th, Vice president Guy Scott says government is keen to improving the civil aviation industry to its best standards.

Dr. Scott also notes that reviewing the civil aviation standards is also key to unlocking great potential of the aviation sector to operate exceptionally well.

He says Zambia has continued to enjoy good relations with other countries in the area of civil aviation and that is in this regard that the sharing best practices will contribute positively to enhancing the operations of the sector.

He adds that having a safe air space is also key to boosting the tourism industry.

Dr Scot said this in a speech read on his behalf by Secretary to the Cabinet Dr.Roland Msiska.
