TRAGEDY has struck a family of Kapiri Mposhi which lost three members, two of whom are children who were burnt to ashes when the grass-thatched house they were sleeping in caught fire.

A two-year-old boy and a two-year-seven-month-old girl died in the inferno while 22-year-old Febby Musenge, whom police suspect could have been their mother, died as she was being rushed to hospital.
Four others were rescued from the fire, two of whom suffered severe burns.
Central Province commissioner of police Standwell Lungu said in Kabwe yesterday that the incident happened around midnight on Monday when the house belonging to Martin Musenge of Kalweo village caught fire.
Mr Lungu said seven people were sleeping in the house when it caught fire in unexplained circumstances.
He said police are investigating the matter and he declined to name the children.
He said two of the victims are admitted to Kapiri Mposhi District Hospital where they are being treated for burns.
“We are yet to confirm if the older victim is their mother because the information we have is from our preliminary investigations,” he said.
Mr Lungu said the charred remains of the deceased are in Kapiri Mposhi District Hospital mortuary.
And when contacted on the condition of the two patients, Kapiri Mposhi Community medical officer Charles Mwenuna said he was still waiting for a report.
