Govt. determined to improving welfare of marketeers
Lusaka, July 0, 2014,ZANIS—Mandevu Member of Parliament (MP) Jean Kapata says government is determined to improving the welfare of marketers in the country
Ms Kapata, who is also Tourism and Arts Minister said marketeers should be looked well because they are providers of food households.
The Minister said this today when she toured Olympia Market situated in Mulungushi ward in Mandevu constituency in Lusaka today.
She also appealed to Roma Construction Company Limited to expedite the construction works at Olympia Market which she said have stalled for some time now.
She stated that government using Constituency Development Funds (CDF) has spent colossal sums of money to construct the first ever modern market in the area.
And speaking earlier, Roma Construction Limited Company Director Douglas Tembo said the delay to complete the construction of Olympia market has been facilitated by ZESCO.
Mr Tembo told the Minister that his company will be able to move on site and complete the works at Olympia market once ZESCO relocates electrical cables to facilitate the smooth construction works.
He said that the company will do everything possible to ensure that a modern standard market is erected.
