High Court Judge Florence Lengalenga has reserved ruling in the matter in which Lawyer Vincent Malambo has applied to join the case in which President Michael Sata has sued the Daily Nation newspaper for libel.

Mr. Malambo had applied to be part of the case with the view of defending himself from allegations made by President Sata that he was removed from representing the Development Bank Zambia (DBZ) because he was allegedly incompetent. President Sata rejected the application by Mr Malambo to join the proceedings.

Mr. Malambo had been earlier engaged by the DBZ to recover a K14 billion loan from Directors of the defunct Zambian Airways who are Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mutembo Nchito, Post Newspaper Editor %u2013in-Chief Fred Mmembe and Nchima Nchito.

Judge Lengalenga during proceedings held in Chambers told the defence lawyers representing Richard Sakala who is the Daily Nation Newspaper Editor that the ruling has been reserved due to the fact that the key witness who is President Sata is not within the country.

She said this is also owing to the fact that Mr. Malambo’s submissions to respond to the rejection of his being party to case by President Sata were also made late, as they were only made a day before the day of ruling which should have been today Wednesday, 25th June.
