Government  says there is need to strengthen messages on the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

Health Deputy Minister Chitalu Chilufya says that  while communicable diseases continue being the major focus of health messages, statistics however show that communicable diseases have continued claiming the lives of many bread winners, thereby fuelling poverty.

Dr. Chilufya said this when he inspected progress on the installation of the CT-Scan at Ndola Central Hospital.

He stated that the National Health Policy will only remain a pronouncement until health service delivery is strengthened at primary level.

The Deputy Minister expressed happiness with the progress of the installation works of the CT-Scan at Ndola Central Hospital, adding that it is a milestone in Health Service delivery.

He disclosed that the Ministry of Health will soon install CT-Scans in Chipata and Mansa Districts.

And Ndola Central Hospital Senior Medical Superintendent, Dr. Dante Malawo said the equipment will build the capacity of the hospital and bring down the number of referrals.
