Rotary club donates five wheelchairs to ZAF Hospital

Maluba Rotary Club has donated five wheelchairs to the Zambia Air Force (ZAF).

 

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Rotary Club District Governor elect Kenneth Chibeaskunda said the club decided to donate to ZAF because of the invaluable humanitarian services the air force renders in times of disasters.

 

Mr Chibeaskunda observed that many a times ZAF is called upon when a disaster strikes in order to assist the affected families.

 

The Rotary Club District Governor said government was overburdened hence the decision by the Rotary club to supplement government’s efforts in improving the provision of quality health care.

 

And speaking at the same function Brigadier General Issac Akakandelwa said the wheelchairs will go a long way in assisting patients at the Lusaka Airbase ZAF Hospital.

 

He explained that the wheelchairs will ease the patients’ mobility at the health facility.

 

Brigadier General Akakandelwa saluted the Rotary Club for appreciating the humanitarian role the Air Force plays.

 

He implored other organizations to emulate the rotary club in assisting the under privileged in society.
