The move by Kitwe city council to demolish over 400 houses in Mindolo Township has continued to receive widespread condemnation

This time around the United National Independence Party (UNIP) and United Party for National Development (UPND) in Northern Province have also added their voice condemning the action.

UNIP regional chairperson Freedom Kafunda likened the operation by the Kitwe city council to raze houses to acts of Nigerian militants Boko Haram.

Mr Kafunda reiterated that the idea of carrying out the demolition exercise at night is inhuman.

And UPND provincial coordinator Maxwell Phiri backed calls to arrest and prosecute cadres and councilors linked to the illegal allocation of plots.
