Govt. advises local constructors to double their efforts

Isoka, June 17, 2014,  ZANIS —  Government  says  local constructors  it awards contracts in must double their efforts .

Health Minister Doctor Joseph Kasonde  says  it was concerned that local contractors it engages are in the tendency of not completing their work on time.

 

ZANIS reports that the minister said this when he conducted a spot check at a multimillion kwacha district hospital being rehabilitated by a local constructor Buildcom Limited in Isoka District, today.

He warned that his ministry it will slap a penalty on Buildcom construction company if it fails to beat the dead line of August 31 this year.

Dr. Kasonde says noted that Isoka Hospital has been embroiled in several problems in relation to limited offices and lack of a laboratory block.

He  said as soon as the buildcom finishes the administration block the hospital will be operate at full capacity as duties will be well distributed in right infrastructure.

And Buildcom site foreman Michael Mbuyamba assured the Minister that the project was on schedule adding that currently roofing of the whole block was in progress.

Mr .Mbuyamba said his company is on course to finish the 3 million Kwacha project that started last year.

Meanwhile Muchinga provincial medical officer Doctor Francis Bwalya has thanked the Minister of Health Dr Joseph Kasonde for inspecting Isoka district Hospital.


Four District Hospitals are under construction in Muchinga province.
