——Katete District Education Board Secretary Ruth Moyo has warned teachers in the district to stop having sexual relationships with pupils.

Mrs. Moyo warned the teachers after some pupils from Katete Day Secondary School presented a song urging teachers to stop being husbands to pupils but teachers for a better Zambia.

She  warned that her office with not hesitate to process papers of sacking employment for any teacher found perpetrating the vice.

The DEBS said this during the commemorations of the Day of an African Child in Katete District, today.

Mrs. Moyo advised the pupils to join hands in curbing the vice by reporting to her office any suspicious behaviors of such acts if observed in their respective schools.

She said government wants to ensure that it provides education in an environment free from all forms of abuse.

She advised parents in the area to also take up their role of ensuring that they create an abusive free home environment that will encourage children to perform better at school.
