Lusaka, June 13, 2014, ZANIS—First Lady Christine Kaseba says investing in nutrition is one of the measures that can help reduce on various health costs in the country.

Dr Kaseba says investing in nutrition will greatly improve productivity, economic growth, promote education, intellectual capacity and social development of the ordinary people.

She explained that nutrition plays a vital role in ensuring that the citizens are protected from various health issues arising from improper eating styles.

The First lady however says that although government has made strides in investing in nutrition, a multi sectoral approach is cardinal in mitigating the issues of under nutrition and over nutrition.

ZANIS reports that the First Lady said this last night when she officiated at this year’s Intercompany Relay Dinner dubbed:  “So Much More Health Living”

The dinner was sponsored by the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA).

And Dr Kaseba has urged the corporate world to promote healthy lifestyles of their staff and by promoting regular exercises for their wellbeing.

Meanwhile, RTSA chief executive officer Zindaba Soko called on the corporate world, traditional leaders, the church, the media and other key stakeholders to promote road safety messages aimed at reducing accidents in the country.

Mr. Soko said road accidents have continued to be devastating to families and have posed as an economic burden to the country hence the need to ensure that they are brought to zero.
