NHCC Northwest region Senior Conservation Officer Micheal Nang’alelwa says is because if not well planned and implemented, the projects can affect the environment adversely.

Mr. Nang’alalwe said this when the national heritage conservation commission visited Sioma district to consult the public on the potential impact the proposed development of a hydro power plant at Ngonye Falls by Western Power cooperation.

He noted that some important issues have been raised relating to the flora in the area, important tree species, fish and the livelihood of the people around the Ngonye falls might be affected by the construction of the Hydro Power plant.
