A report by the Foundation for Democratic Process -FODEP has revealed that the majority of people in Eastern, Southern and Copperbelt provinces are satisfied with the level at which the Patriotic Front has fulfilled its campaign promises contained in its Manifesto.

The report, which was launched in Lusaka this morning, states that ninety two percent of the respondents in Eastern, Southern and Copperbelt provinces observed that the PF has lived up to its 2011 election promises.

The respondents have revealed that the PF has fulfilled its promises towards infrastructure development, construction of police posts and building of schools.

However, some respondents expressed concern on the alleged failure by government to deliver a people driven constitution and job creation.

And FODEP President Shepherd Chilombe says the survey was conducted in order to assess how citizens know party manifestos and how they track campaign promises.

Meanwhile, Veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga says manifestos are an essential part of democracy that must be availed to voters for them to make informed decisions.

Mr Mwaanga, who launched the FODEP Report in Lusaka says those who make political promises must be held accountable to fulfill what is in their manifestos.

But, opposition UPND Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba says it is only in 2016 when the people of Zambia will tell whether the PF has fulfilled its campaign promises or not.
