The Airtel rising stars district selections are still going on with scouts visiting most of the districts in Zambia so far.
Selections that started almost two weeks ago have seen football scouts visiting several districts among them, Chongwe, Ithezhitezhi, Kaoma, Sinda Chama, Petauke, Mpika and Ndola.
Today the program will see scouts in Luanshya at the Luanshya Recreation center, starting at 08:30 hrs. At the same time another group of scouts will be in Kasama at Kasama stadium. Arthur Davies stadiun in Kitwe will be the venue for the selctions,starting at 14:30.
On saturday, the scouts will focus on Kalulushi, Mufulira and Mungwi.
Kalulushi playing fields will be the center of selection for Kalulushi starting at 08:30 hours.In Mungwi the selection process will be done at Ilamfya ground starting at 08:30 hours.
Legendary Shinde stadium in Mufulira will host the ceremonial kick off for the copperbelt selection, starting at 14:30 hours.
FAZ, Executive member in charge of youth soccer, Mr, Lee Kawanu has asked parents to allow their children to take part in this life changing football activity.”We are encouraging parents school administrators and guardians to take advantage of this program and allow children under their care to go to the selections centers, those that are in areas we have not visited should quickly get to the nearest Airtel office in their area to get more details about this initiative” he added.
The district trials are on until June 16,2014
Airtel Rising Stars, is a partnership between Airtel and the Football Association of Zambia aimed identifying football talent in the entire country. The program has been on for the past four years.
