Three Grade 12 pupils and a named teacher at Chilonga Secondary School in Mpika district have been nabbed by Chilonga Police following a report of a stolen In Transit (IT) vehicle.
The four suspects were apprehended over the weekend in connection with the same after the driver of the unregistered vehicle was beaten and the said vehicle grabbed by unknown people four months ago.
Muchinga Deputy Police Commissioner, Bonny Kapeso, told ZANIS that an unregistered vehicle was being driven by Andrew Chiti, 27, a Clearing Agent of Nakonde when he was attacked at Lukulu area, 140 km south of Mpika.
Mr. Kapeso said the incident occurred at about 02:00 hours.
He said those being questioned are three named juveniles and their teacher, all of Chilonga Secondary School.
The Deputy Police Commissioner said the vehicle was recovered by the local police after a tip from members of the public.
