A water vessel worth K12,000 has been been stolen at Mwenso wansoka Catholic Church of Santa Maria Parish in Chilubi district in Northern Province.

Congregation Chairman, Patrick Mwape, revealed the theft to ZANIS in Chilubi district today.

Mr Mwape said recently the congregation parked a hired banana boat at the harbour but was discovered missing the following day.

The church chairman further described the boat in question as blue and orange.

Mr Mwape added that the matter has since been reported to police in the area.

He further explained that the Church programmes have since been temporarily disturbed as the owner of the boat has decided to lock the church, and vowed not to open it for anyone until the church gives him back his boat.

Mr Mwape has since appealed to the general public to report the matter to police whenever they come across any strange boat in the area.
