A WEALTHY couple discovered they were being fleeced by their child’s nanny when they spotted her wearing stolen clothes and jewellery on Facebook, a court was told.

Parents Becki and Bradley Cannings were left baffled after designer clothes and possessions including bracelets and earrings began to go missing.

But the court heard how Becki rumbled the betrayal of trust when she spotted pictures of Pascale Sherwin, 23, on the social networking site wearing her clothes and jewellery on nights out.

The DIY detectives then decided to set up four secret cameras in their home in Exeter and finally caught Sherwin in the act.

The nanny was found with the clothes and a stash of stolen jewellery when police searched her home, also in Exeter.

“I hate myself for it now but I started thinking if anyone I knew would do this.

“I feel stupid but I never once considered it would be her. She had become part of the family. My mum then looked on Sasha’s Facebook account and I felt physically sick.

“In her profile picture she was wearing all of my clothes and was doing so in several others.

“I was even tagged in them. I don’t know if she was just stupid or rubbing my nose in it.

“I have never felt so violated and my whole world came tumbling down.” Becki said that despite the evidence, she hoped Sherwin wasn’t the one steali…..
