Junior Chipolopolo Zambia have made an early exit from their debut appearance at the ongoing Torneo Delle Nazioni tournament in Italy.

The defeat left Zambia rooted at the bottom of Group A on zero points from two games played after suffering their second successive defeat at the 12-team, three group tournament that runs from April 24 to May 1.

Italy broke Zambia’s hearts with first half goals from Christian Capone and Andrea Pinamonti.

Capone put the tournament hosts ahead in the eighth minute and twelve minutes later Pinamonti sealed Italy Under-17’s win to send them top of Group A on four point.

Zambia defeat came just 24 hours after losing 2-0 to third placed Israel in their opening Group A.

On Sunday, Zambia play a formality match against Brazil who are joint Group A leaders with Italy following their 2-0 win over Israel on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Zambia were using the tournament to prepare for their Niger 2015 CAF Under-17 second round qualifiers against Botswana coming up this July.

Zambia will host Botswana on July 19 in Lusaka in the first leg before travelling to Gaborone on August 2.

Winner will advance to the final qualifying stage to play the Rwanda versus Seychelles or Uganda second round tie for a place at next year’s finals in Niger
