The Lusaka High Court has sentenced Musician Clifford Dimba, alias ‘General Kanene’, to 18-years imprisonment with hard labour after being convicted for defiling an underage girl.

High Court Judge Chalwe Mchenga sent Dimba, 26, to jail when the matter came up for sentencing this morning.

Judge Mchenga in sentencing Kanene noted the increase in cases of child defilement and hopes the sentencing of Kanene will serve as a deterrent to would be perpetrators.

He said he was satisfied with the decision of the Magistrate court which convicted Dimba of the offence.

The minimum sentence for defilement is 15 years imprisonment while the maximum is life imprisonment.
