Three people accused of killing a Chinsali school teacher in 2012 and stealing his motor vehicle have been committed to the Kasama High Court for summary trial.

This is in a case in which the trio of Mathews Bwalya 35, Diamond Sichela 35 and Michael Mbewe 38, is jointly charged with one count of murder contrary to section 200 Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

The embattled three appeared before magistrate Shadrick Chanda in the Chinsali subordinate court yesterday.

Magistrate Chanda said he has received instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to commit the three accused persons to Kasama High Court for summary trial during its next session.

The suspects are alleged to have brutally murdered Lawrence Mulongwe on January 5, 2012 and also got away with a motor vehicle, namely a Toyota sprinter registration number ABT 7179 valued at K22, 000.
