A 28-YEAR-OLD taxi driver has appeared in the Livingstone Magistrate’s Court charged with rape.
Before Resident Magistrate Chinkashi Chilingala was Fredrick Ndabala of no fixed bode in Livingstone, who pleaded not guilty to one count of raping his longtime girlfriend aged 18 years.

“You have been charged with one count of rape contrary to section 132 of the penal code of Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia,” Magistrate Chilingala told the accused.
Particulars of the offence are that on February 20, 2014, in Livingstone, Ndabala had unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl without her consent.
Ndabala pleaded not guilty to the charge, arguing that the victim was his girlfriend.
“I did not force her to have sex with me. I am denying the charge of rape as she has been my girlfriend for a long time. I did not know that she was feeling pain,” Ndabala told the court.
Magistrate Chilingala said the court would record a plea of not guilty to the charge of rape.
