NKANA striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba is in a race against time to be fit for Saturday’s MTN/FAZ Super League home game against Roan United in Kitwe.
Kampamba has been sidelined for the last eight days due to a hamstring injury he sustained on March 30 away in Egypt against Zamalek in a CAF Champions League last 16 final leg match that Nkana lost 5-nil.
Nkana coach Masauso Mwale said in an interview after Tuesday morning training at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe that he was hopeful Kampamba would recover before the end of the week.
‘‘We are still observing him. He attends physiotherapy in the morning and comes to the ground in the afternoon. It was the same thing on Monday afternoon,’’ Mwale said.
‘‘He is still recovering he is not yet 100 per cent fit but I know before the end of this week he will be OK,” he added.
Kampamba injury saw him miss Nkana’s away Week Three game to Napsa Stars last Saturday that ended scoreless.
And Mwale also disclosed that defender Christopher Munthali sustained a minor knock in the game against Napsa but that it was nothing major and will be available for face bottom placed Roan this weekend.
