The Management at Mambilima Mission Hospital has demanded that Mambilima Constituency Member of parliament Mighty Mumba apologizes to the public for uttering false statements to the media and the general public over the situation at Hospital.
Hon. Mumba was on 27th March, 2014 quoted on ZNBC radio 2 as said that the management at Mambilima Mission Hospital have been stealing medical drugs and other supplies to the institution.
But reacting to the utterances, acting Hospital administrator Kaoma Nsobaula in a statement to the permanent secretary and copied to K-fm news said it was surprising to note that even after being told the true picture about the situation at the hospital by the staff who were present in the meeting, the MP went ahead to make alarming statements to the media.
Mr. Nsobaula indicated that the false utterances has not only put the image of the hospital staff in disrepute but also damaged their integrity and the missionary’s confidence in the hospital whose staff is operating under difficult conditions.
Mr. Nsobaula who is also board secretary said the Hospital board of management has therefore given the Mambilima law maker a 7 days ultimatum in which to retract his media statement and apologize to the hospital staff.
He further added that failure to do so the management will take a further legal action to challenge his allegation.
Mr. Nsobaula further challenged Hon. Mumba to go back to the constituency and tell the people what he has done for Mambilima Hospital for him to substantiate the allegations.
