—-Kafue District Commissioner, Grace Ngulube , has cautioned workers at the district hospital to improve their working culture in order to save people’s lives in the district.

Ms Ngulube has observed that the attitude of some of the health workers at the district hospital leaves much to be desired.

The DC made the call today when he visited the district hospital and addressed members of staff.

She expressed sadness with the unclean environment at the hospital surroundings and in some admission wards.

Ms Ngulube has since directed the hospital management to ensure that stern action is taken against the erring officers.

She emphasised government’s commitment to save lives of the people through provision of quality health services in the district.

Ms Ngulube warned that she would not tolerate health workers’ altitude of reporting late for work, laziness and indiscipline.

And Kafue district hospital in charge, Amanda Malungo, assured the District Commissioner that the hospital management will ensure quality health service delivery in the district.

Dr Malungo said management at the hospital has already taken some measures against some officers who were found wanting.

Meanwhile the Kafue District Commissioner, Grace Ngulube, has refuted reports that she blocked UPND party officials to clean and make some donations at the district hospital.

Ms Ngulube denied receiving any communication concerning UPND party officials as a leader of all government departments in the district.

She added that any organisation visiting the district must come through her office and wondered why UPND officials had gone to the media to complain instead of approaching her.

She has called on UPND officials to concentrate on developmental issues rather than talking about her name in the media.

The district commissioner was recently quoted in one of the local media as having blocked UPND officials from making donations to Kafue District Hospital.
