THE Government has called for collaboration between foreign and local consultants as well as contractors to find engineering solutions to challenges the country was facing.
Speaking at the launch of Iliso Consulting Zambia office in Lusaka at the weekend, Transport, Works, Supply and Communication Deputy Minister Mwimba Malama said the Government’s desire was to see foreign and local consultants collaborate in executing projects in Zambia.
“Our desire, as Government, is to see foreign and local consultants as well as contractors work together whenever they execute projects in the country,” Mr Malama said.
He said engineering had the ability to change the landscape of any country and urged Iliso Consulting and all players in the industry to take advantage of the policy environment to improve the economic welfare of the people in the country.
At the same function Iliso Consulting Zambia managing director Mususeni Mumba said his company’s vision was to become a world-class engineering consulting firm.
“The alliance with our South African partners was aimed at assisting in developing the Zambian infrastructure in the same way that other countries like South Africa had done,” Mr Mumba said.
