FORMER Zambia Army commander Nobby Simbeye’s daughter, Niza, has suffered a fractured eye socket after she was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend, Jack Chipokola.
The CT scan results confirmed by Niza’s sister, Musanchi in Lusaka  indicated that the injury was incurred when she was allegedly battered by Chipokola.
Niza, who was admitted to CfB Medical Care in Lusaka, underwent a CT scan at Maina Soko Military Hospital and the results released yesterday showed that the 25-year-old had a fractured eye socket.
“She underwent a CT scan at Maina Soko Hospital and results show that she has a fractured eye socket and will see a specialist at CfB tomorrow (today),” she said.
Niza was allegedly assaulted by Chipokola last weekend after attending a wedding reception.
Chikopola was arrested and released on bond after he handed himself to Woodlands Police Station on Monday evening.
Police spokesperson, Charity Munganga-Chanda said the formalities of his arrest and subsequent release on bond were conducted immediately after he was arrested.
Ms Chanda said the suspect would appear in court soon.
“The formalities of his arrest and release were done and he will appear in court soon,” Ms Chanda said.
Before his arrest, Chipokola was reported to have gone into hiding, but he eventually turned himself in for formal arrest and was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
